The Victorian Animal Aid Trust (Animal Aid) has been serving the local community since 1935, caring for and re-homing countless lost and abandoned companion animals.
A fantastic opportunity exists for an animal attendant to join our Animal Aid Team
We are seeking a person with a genuine passion for helping people and animals. This role is in a fast-paced team environment and you will need to be able to multi-task to a high degree.

- Animal Husbandry– A reasonable level of canine knowledge, breed, behaviour and medical observation. Must be comfortable with handling dogs varying in size and temperament.
- Teamwork– You must be able to work in a team environment, one where all staff members are respectful, communicate well and are able to depend on each other.
- Physical ability / Time management – This role is physically demanding, must have a “can do” attitude and be prepared to work in all weather conditions. The position is fast paced and requires everyone to be able to manage their time and priorities to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Reception – Along with great communication and customer service skills you will also be required to have basic computer skills.
Role duties & responsibilities
- General care, husbandry and handling of animals.
- FOH Administration and Customer Service
- Assist with animal admissions
- Monitor and report animal health.
- Upkeep and clean the facilities.
- Work in a team environment and support volunteers.
