Animal Aid, a trusted organization serving the local community since 1935, is currently looking for an experienced Cert IV qualified Vet Nurse to join our dedicated team. Located in Coldstream, just 50 minutes from the city and nestled at the gateway of the picturesque Yarra Valley, Animal Aid provides care for countless lost, abused, and unwanted companion animals, finding them loving homes.
As a Vet Nurse at Animal Aid, you’ll have the chance to make a significant impact on animal welfare. Our clinic primarily focuses on caring for small animals, with occasional cases involving exotics and small ruminants. This role offers diversity and a holistic experience, combining both private and welfare veterinary services. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a rewarding shelter environment, while also providing services to the general public in a private practice setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with performing a mix of private and welfare veterinary services.
- Cover front-of-house (FOH), back-of-house (BOH), and surgery shifts.
- Help train and mentor our dedicated volunteers.
- Embody positivity and make a difference in people’s lives and our organization.
- Demonstrate autonomy and proactivity in your work.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certified IV qualification in Veterinary Nursing.
- Genuine passion for helping both people and animals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively.
- Previous experience in training and mentoring volunteers.
This position is casual.
