Recently, we’ve seen this commitment in action through the story of Nero, a sweet cat who underwent a life-changing surgery called Femoral Head and Neck Excision (FHNE).
FHNE in a Nutshell
FHNE is a crucial surgical procedure for pets suffering from hip joint issues. By removing the femoral head and neck, this operation addresses pain and mobility problems caused by conditions like bone-on-bone contact, allowing pets to move freely and comfortably again.
Nero’s Story: A Triumph Over Pain
Nero arrived at Animal Aid with a significant injury, likely from being hit by a car. He was limping and in obvious pain, particularly in his hip area. X-rays revealed the need for FHNE to relieve the bone-on-bone contact in his hip. Thanks to the dedicated care of our veterinary team, Nero underwent the surgery successfully.
We are thrilled to share that Nero is doing really well post-operation. He is currently in foster care, where he is recovering. Soon, he will be ready to find his forever home and live a pain-free, happy life!
