Are you ready to unleash your inner adventurer and help homeless canines in need?

Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, and join us at Adventure Dog, Australia’s largest cross-country human and canine challenge!

We have fun in store for competitors and their cheer squads a like!

Not only is Adventure Dog a unique event for humans and their furry companions, but it also raises much-needed funds for the homeless dogs here at Animal Aid.

The course has been specifically designed to strengthen the bond between humans and canines and celebrate the relationship we have with our dogs.

Regular competitor Aaron, with his dog Brandy, completed four laps of the course last year, “It’s a fantastic, feel-good event. I was happily surprised at how many like-minded people came together to support Animal Aid,” said Aaron.

Brandy, a Harrier, has always been one for adventure but surprisingly she wasn’t too sure of the mud.

“Brandy was happy and focused on the course except when we got to the mud,” said Aaron, “She did take a bit of encouragement from the obstacle volunteers to make it through.”

The event village is a draw card for families and friends, with music, food and stalls, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

This year we have set up a new, final 50-metre stretch, to end the circuit with a big finish line, right next to the event village, so people can cheer you across the finish line!

“It was nice to come off the course and have a cold beer with my friends,” said Aaron, “It was fun to celebrate finishing the race and soak up the atmosphere.”

This year, Animal Aid’s goal is to raise over $80,000 from this event. We aim high as we need to support over 6,000 homeless animals each year at the shelter.
