Donating Goods

Donate Goods to Animal Aid

Donating goods is a practical and meaningful way to support Animal Aid. Whether you are a local business with excess stock, a shop preparing to close, or an individual downsizing your home, your donated items can help raise vital funds through our op shops or directly support the animals in our care.

Gifts in Kind

We are always in need for in-kind donations including everyday essentials such as food and bedding, but also items that may not be seen as necessities; items which we know will either improve an animal’s time with us, enhance our ability to provide our services or help increase the awareness of our important work.

We use blankets and towels in all of our departments at Animal Aid. Second hand items in a reasonably good condition are very appreciated. Unfortunately we cannot take any items that are padded including doonas, sleeping bags, pillows or mattresses of any kind.

Business stock donations

If your business has old, excess or end-of-line stock, we would love to hear from you. Donating stock to Animal Aid is a simple way to give useful items a second life while supporting animal welfare in the community.

We can accept a wide range of suitable goods for our op shops and shelter, and can provide an acknowledgement letter outlining the items donated and the estimated value provided, where applicable, for your accounting records.

This may be helpful for businesses that are clearing stock, relocating, closing down, or simply looking for a meaningful way to reduce waste and support a local charity.

Op shop donations and household goods

If you are downsizing, moving house, clearing a property or managing excess household goods, Animal Aid may be able to help.

Depending on the items, location and access requirements, our team can discuss collection options and help coordinate drivers, vans and volunteers to remove suitable goods from your space. We understand that every situation is different, and will work with you to find a practical approach where possible.

Before confirming a collection, we may ask for some details about the items available, their condition, the volume of goods, parking access and any specific removal requirements. This helps us plan safely and make sure the donation can be used in a way that genuinely supports our work.

We have opportunity shops in Croydon South, Blackburn South and Bairnsdale. See below for further details.

Partner with Animal Aid

We welcome conversations with businesses, retailers and community members who would like to support Animal Aid through donated goods, stock, supplies or other opportunities.

If you have items to donate, business stock to clear, or an idea that could create a mutually beneficial partnership, please get in touch with our team. We would be happy to discuss what you have available and how your support could help animals in need.

Animal Aid Opportunity Shops

Thanks to the dedication of our team of fantastic volunteers, Animal Aid is able to operate several Op Shops. The income generated by the sale of second hand goods helps support the important animal welfare work carried out at our Coldstream, Bairnsdale and Sale facilities. We accept items and goods in reasonable condition for re-sale in our Opportunity Shops. Donations of goods can be made at our shelters or directly to our Op Shops. Sadly, Many items are in such bad condition we have to dispose of them as they too damaged to either be safe and functional. The disposal of such items costs Animal Aid significant funds every year.
