Animal Aid Training Program – Terms and Conditions
Before enrolling in or participating in any Animal Aid animal training service, including private consultations and group-based programs, participants must read and agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
- Program scope and delivery
Animal Aid training services may be delivered as private consultations, group programs, or other formats as determined by Animal Aid. Program structure, duration, delivery method, location, and participant numbers may be varied to meet operational, safety, or animal welfare requirements.
- Fees and payment
A non-refundable deposit may be required to secure a place in a training program or consultation. Full payment of all remaining fees must be received no later than forty eight (48) hours prior to the commencement of the scheduled training session or program. Failure to meet this requirement may result in forfeiture of the participant’s place. Where applicable, certificates, reports, or statements of participation may be withheld until all fees are paid in full.
- Participant cancellations and non-attendance
If a participant is unable to attend due to illness or injury, a credit toward a future training session or program may be offered at the discretion of Animal Aid, subject to availability and upon presentation of a valid medical certificate. Deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations or non-attendance within forty eight (48) hours of commencement, or failure to complete full payment within the required timeframe, will not be eligible for a refund or credit.
- Cancellations or changes by Animal Aid
Animal Aid reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, relocate, or modify any training service due to insufficient enrolments, staff availability, weather conditions, safety concerns, or other operational requirements. Where a service is cancelled by Animal Aid prior to commencement, participants will be offered either a rescheduled placement or a refund of fees paid, excluding any non-refundable deposit. Refunds will be processed within ten (10) working days.
- Suitability of training locations
Where training is conducted off site, including in private homes or public environments, participants are responsible for ensuring the location is suitable and safe for all parties involved. This includes providing secure, well maintained fencing where required, adequate space for the activities being undertaken, and minimising environmental risks to people, animals, and the public. Animal Aid reserves the right to refuse to commence or continue training if the location is deemed unsafe or unsuitable.
- Group training vaccination requirements
For group training programs, all participating animals must have a current vaccination certificate prior to attendance. Vaccinations must have been administered within the preceding twelve (12) months and must not have passed their due date at the time of participation. Required vaccinations are Dogs C5. Proof of vaccination may be requested before or upon arrival. Animals that do not meet these requirements will not be permitted to participate and will not be eligible for a refund or credit.
- Participant conduct and safety
Participants must follow all instructions provided by Animal Aid staff at all times. If a participant’s actions compromise the safety, wellbeing, or learning experience of people or animals, Animal Aid may modify participation requirements or exclude the participant from the training service. In such circumstances, no refund or credit will be provided and any outstanding fees remain payable.
- Risk acknowledgement
Participants acknowledge that animal training activities involve inherent risks, including the risk of injury, illness, property damage, or other loss. Participation is undertaken at the participant’s own risk.
- Release and indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, participants release and indemnify Animal Aid, its directors, employees, volunteers, and agents from any liability for injury, loss, damage, or expense arising out of or in connection with participation in training services, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
- Medical treatment
Participants consent to Animal Aid arranging emergency medical treatment if required, including ambulance transport. Participants agree to be responsible for all medical costs incurred that are not covered by Medicare, private health insurance, or ambulance membership.
- Disclosure of relevant information
Participants must disclose any medical conditions, injuries, disabilities, or behavioural concerns that may affect safe participation. Participants are responsible for advising Animal Aid staff of any changes to this information.
- Clothing and equipment
Participants must wear appropriate clothing and enclosed footwear suitable for animal handling and training environments. Jewellery, loose clothing, or items that may pose a safety risk should not be worn.
- Personal property
Participants are responsible for their personal belongings while on Animal Aid premises or attending off-site training. Animal Aid does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.
- Photography and media
Participants consent to being photographed or recorded during training activities and authorise Animal Aid to use images or recordings for promotional, educational, or reporting purposes unless otherwise advised in writing.
- Dishonoured payments
A service fee may apply to dishonoured or failed payment transactions.
- Legal rights
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.
By enrolling in or participating in an Animal Aid training service, participants confirm they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
